Norma Alonzo

Director of Collections Literalities And Rromance

A reader for Éditions Douro since 2020, Norma Alonzo brilliantly navigates the twists and turns of literature and communication. Drawing on her experience as a journalist for various Paraguayan media outlets and local newspapers in Switzerland, she captures the essence of words and captivating stories. Her eclectic career, ranging from administrative management to the coordination of cultural and literary events, is a testament to her versatility and dedication. A passionate poet, with two books of poetry in Guarani and Spanish, she also wrote a weekly column in the newspaper "Imagen Internacional," where she delighted readers with her tales every week. With humor, she confesses that hundreds of poems in French are sleeping in a shoebox, which may one day be in your hands. Her first collection of poems, published at the age of 15, marked the beginning of an exciting literary journey. An accomplished polyglot, Norma easily juggles French, Spanish, Guarani, and Portuguese. She still struggles with English, but makes herself understood when necessary, enriching each project with her multicultural touch. Her commitment doesn't stop there, as she's also working on the creation of an innovative web magazine, aimed at promoting the cultural and economic values of French-speaking Switzerland, thus proving her ability to blend tradition and modernity. In this magazine, you'll soon discover the authors of this publishing house. A member of the Douro Editions reading committee, she brings a keen eye to manuscripts, ensuring the coherence of plots and the depth of characters.
