Norma Alonzo

Director of Collections Literalities And Romance

A reader for Douro Publishers since 2020, Norma Alonzo navigates the intricacies of literature and communication with flair. Drawing on her experience as a journalist for various Paraguayan media outlets and local newspapers in Switzerland, she captures the essence of words and captivating stories. Her eclectic background, ranging from administrative management to the coordination of cultural and literary events, testifies to her versatility and dedication. A passionate poet, with two books of poetry in Guarani and Spanish to her name, she also wrote a weekly column for the newspaper "Imagen Internacional," where she delighted readers with her tales each week. With a touch of humor, she confesses that hundreds of poems in French lie dormant in a shoebox, perhaps one day finding their way into your hands. Her first collection of poems, published when she was 15, marked the beginning of an exciting literary journey. A true polyglot, Norma effortlessly switches between French, Spanish, Guarani, and Portuguese. She still struggles with English, but makes herself understood when necessary, enriching each project with her multicultural perspective. Her commitment doesn't stop there, as she is also working on creating an innovative web magazine aimed at promoting the cultural and economic values of French-speaking Switzerland, thus demonstrating its ability to blend tradition and modernity. In this magazine, you will soon discover the authors of this publishing house. As a member of the reading committee for Éditions Douro, she brings a keen eye to manuscripts, ensuring the coherence of the plots and the depth of the characters.
