Lamia Amrane
Lamia Amrane, wife of Hamadache, was born in Algiers in 1978. A mother of three daughters and a graduate of the University of Algiers with a degree in Interpreting and Translation, she worked in the aviation industry, then primarily in web content writing and administration. After living in Montreal, Quebec, for nine years, she settled near Tours, in the Indre-et-Loire region. In late 2020, she launched her own business as a web content writer and translator from English to French. "The Blue Portal" is her first novel, inspired by her country of origin and her own experiences.
Emma, a young Parisian from a privileged background, is spending her summer vacation in Algeria against her will. Full of prejudices and preconceived notions, she dreads the trip and builds a shell around herself to avoid any interaction. But against all odds, her stay takes an unexpected turn. Not only does she end up appreciating it in the streets of Algiers and Oran, but she also forges connections as improbable as they are wonderful. Neither age nor differing cultures can stand in the way of the genesis of this exceptional story. Publication date: May 1, 2023. Order now
