The term "interactions" is ubiquitous in many fields, ranging from the social sciences to the hard sciences, including communication and technology. It refers, in particular, to the dynamic relationships between different elements, individuals, or systems. Interaction is essential for development, learning, and evolution, both individually and collectively.

How do interactions shape our understanding of the world and our relationship with others?

Human interactions are the foundation of life in society. From childhood, they enable the acquisition of language, social norms, and cultural values. They foster cooperation, the sharing of knowledge, and the evolution of ideas.

They take various forms: verbal, non-verbal, emotional or professional.

With the rise of digital technology, these interactions have evolved and now also take place via online platforms. They can also be a source of conflict or misunderstandings, for example, in an international context marked by cultural incomprehension and geopolitical tensions.

Ethical and social questions also arise, particularly concerning the protection of personal data and the impact of social networks on human behavior.

This raises new issues such as the quality of interactions, emotional management, and the impact on mental health. Effective human interaction relies on listening, empathy, and recognizing the other person's uniqueness.

A book (liber in Latin) generally liberates its words, but also the pain it reveals. The pain it contains, or Antoine Cam's own? The pain he carries deep within his soul, even after Sophie's death. The pain that afflicts him, like the adoption proceedings. So he writes a book within a book, "Option Adoption," with a naiveté that will cause him much trouble, plunging him into despair to the point of giving rise to regrets. Ultimately, it will also allow him to reconsider his personal life, to allow himself other choices, and bring him that long-awaited revelation: understanding the cause of Sophie's accident… This novel approaches the world of work from the perspective of fraternity and solidarity, all the more reason to denounce stubbornness and cynicism when they prevail. In general, it celebrates fidelity to commitments, both personal and professional. Throughout the story, it draws on strong values, particularly when addressing the themes of family and parent-child relationships. Publication date: January 2, 2026. Order now

In these twenty-one short stories, Bertrand Gaydon humorously and vividly portrays, from Buenos Aires to New Orleans, from China to Senegal, characters who are part heroic, part downtrodden, but in any case less brilliant or special than they would like to imagine themselves. Among them are a fairy with a degree in philosophy, an inventor of everyday expressions, a couple who adopt a dying person, defendants who determine their own sentences, a wild bear tamer ill at ease in real life, and many other fictional figures lost in the everyday. It could have been a simple love story, recounted among family at the end of a Sunday afternoon meal. But when it challenges the balance of an entire family, the priorities of the relationships between a mother, her daughter, and her own mother, things are bound to spiral out of control. At twenty, Valentine is a rising star in show jumping, riding her mare Love-Song, competing in one equestrian competition after another. Her mother is an English teacher at a high school, and Mounie, her retired grandmother, is the third member of this formidable trio. These three strong-willed women are about to shatter all the established norms, all the stifling unspoken family secrets, because the only thing that matters to them is the respect and love they have for one another. This book is a recognition of a new kind of freedom, claimed by three liberated women who speak to those who wouldn't dare, to those who have remained silent for so many years. It also takes us to places in the four corners of the world: Singapore, Dubai, the Sultanate of Oman. Finally, this story is for all those who love to travel. It describes the powerful feelings between its characters and thus falls into the category of contemporary novels exploring personal dilemmas, intergenerational dynamics, and family conflicts that are resolved in the kitchen, without the men of the house having access. A child, Nicolas, speaks with a raven who initiates him into the winding paths of magic once frequented by his father. But magic has its rules, which cannot be broken without surprises. A writer discovers fragments of strange texts in his wastebasket, texts he didn't write… But who is the author? In a world where hyper-connectivity is omnipresent and locks everything down, including thoughts, what place can Jason, the child artist who gives form to his dreams with the tips of his charcoal pencils, have? Can human dreams be controlled in order to better enslave them? A totalitarian state considered this, creating a special intervention brigade for the purpose. But they hadn't counted on Arthur, the poet. In total, eleven short stories, eleven tales that escape the weight of reality on the magic carpet of imagination, dreams, or fantasy. Sophie, a young psychologist, is starting out in child protection. Her attention is drawn to the situation of two little girls, sisters placed in the care of a foster mother. Faced with the older girl's silence, whose perplexing behavior worries her teacher, she ingeniously adapts her investigative methods to unravel her mystery. She experiments with new strategies to overcome the girl's resistance. Will her revelations about the child's reality lead to a reassessment of the placement? As she faces the complexities of the legal system, she receives support she never dared hope for. It will transform her life through the series of choices she faces, both professionally and personally. Beyond addressing child abuse, this novel highlights the humanity of those involved. It examines the working relationship and trust between social workers, the institutional environment, the police-justice partnership, and the interference or misunderstandings with local elected officials. All these factors represent potential risks of dysfunction that could be detrimental to the child. Added to this are the personal histories and emotional burdens of the professionals involved… Publication date: April 1, 2025 Order now
