Yohan Bismuth

Yohan Bismuth is a computer engineer and writer. Passionate about fantasy literature, visual arts, and the maritime world, he draws inspiration from a variety of stories, from the works of Stephen King and Lovecraft to Cendrars's past as a smuggler. His imagination is enriched by a fascination with the strange, fueled by the circus and the sculptures of Alexander Calder. Based in La Rochelle, he has created a captivating plunge into the realm of fantasy and horror with Noir Abysse.

"Within each of us flows this Black Abyss." Having become privateers after a life of piracy, Maria Alvida and Alaric Busento are entrusted with a perilous mission: to find the Foot of Ydon, a frigate lost at sea whose cargo the emperor demands. Their quest takes them to the island of Layoll, Busento's birthplace, where he encounters the ghosts of his childhood. But this once familiar island seems to have succumbed to a strange and devouring evil. As the plague spreads and shipwrecks occur one after another, an even darker danger looms: a voracious creature prowls, lurking in the shadows of the marshes, leaving death in its wake. And to recover the emperor's treasure, Maria and Busento must hunt it down in the depths of Layoll, where horror and legend intertwine. As they descend into the Abyss, they confront the demons of the past, the fragile boundary between man and beast, and discover that the most fearsome monsters can be born from human distress.
