Hubert Marécaille
A former print journalist based in Brussels, Hubert Marécaille published his first novel, *Le traité du menteur* (The Liar's Treatise), with Éditions Goater in 2013, and a short story, *Une erreur monumentale* (A Monumental Mistake), published by the Maison de la culture de Loire-Atlantique in 2000. He also works as a screenwriter and director.
In this collection of thirty short stories, a blend of tragedy and burlesque, the author presents the courageously philosophical, and offbeat, meditations of his fictional alter ego (undoubtedly a bit neurotic) as he grapples with himself and the futile, absurd dramas of existence, whose every setback, every difficulty, seems to be imbued, for him, with profound metaphysical significance.
