They look at the glowing city. FIREMAN. – Look at the city! Isn't this the cauldron described by Basile and Odette, the place of losses. Must we go and dip our spoons in this soup? WEASEL. – Oh! The city! It's splendid! A thousand fires rejoice it. I feel it rising, rising and embracing my legs. Take me away, the savannah is blazing behind us, take me away. What were you saying just now about the beauty of women? Ah! yes, I remember... Come, fireman of my heart, admire with me the majesty of the view. They disappear into the city. Pretty Abricot, having survived the mad matchmaker's deadly spree, returns to duty and takes her darlings into the world of film, which is putting up a fight: escape, a cavalcade between two cops, a chase across France with the broken-nosed bust of Henri Langlois under his arm... Jean-Luc Godard follows the case from afar. Terminus at director Jean-Pierre Stévenin's, right at the Franco-Swiss customs office in La Cure, in a strange café cut in two by the border! It hurts!... but it's not over! Gabon and Abricot head for Lausanne, cutting down a few bad guys as night falls; they have the idea, and carry it out, to kidnap Jean-Luc Godard to "sweeten" the Cinémathèque Française. The case is swiftly conducted across the canton of Vaud and is resolved in the craziest and most convivial campsite in the Swiss Confederation. Beware of the Walther PP from Gabon, like a James Bond gun: it's not a good idea to be in its path, especially if you're a cloud. Published: October 24, 2021 Order
