The waters of the Euphrates continued to flow into the ancient streets and squares of the city, but little by little, the canals silted up, their flow diminished, and the water became stagnant… No one would have dreamed of venturing onto the site, much less settling there. Besides, the soothsayers had predicted at least 70 years of total abandonment for this cursed place. Blending history and fiction, *The King Who Drowned Babylon* is a fabulous journey through time, transporting us 700 years before our era to Mesopotamia, the Garden of Eden between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, in the heart of the Assyrian Empire. This novel recounts the life of King Sennacherib, a great conqueror despite himself, a scholar, a brilliant inventor, a reformer, but also a simple human being with his joys, his sorrows, his victories, his failures, and his doubts. How did he come to commit this unimaginable act: drowning the fabulous Babylon? Publication date: April 1, 2023 Order now
