In the 1990s, in Bizerte, Tunisia, Bahr, a fisherman who dedicated his life to searching for treasures lost during the exodus of Arabs from Andalusia to Africa, disappears overnight. To find him, his cousin Sony, a mysterious and controversial local boss, enlists the help of his twin brother Chams. They involve in their quest Monji, the cunning and intrepid taxi driver, as well as Loona, the enigmatic friend with an improbable personality. The search for Bahr becomes intertwined with the quest to recover the treasures for some, and for others, to make peace with the past and find absolution. In a society torn between tradition and modernity, weakened by political dictatorship, these characters, along with so many others, strive to overcome their fears, their wounds, and sometimes their family histories.
