Coralie Raoelina
Born in Clermont-Ferrand in 1985, Coralie Raoelina has written an epistolary historical novel where the personal intertwines with major historical events. Marked by questions of memory and identity, she has developed a sensitive and well-researched writing style. She has published two short stories in the literary journal Rue Saint-Ambroise.
August 1914. In the mud of the trenches, Lucien faces the horror of the front. In Roanne, Monelle watches over their daughter Fanny and tends to the wounded, while their letters to Lucien's parents cross paths in Monton, at the Place des Forts in Auvergne, carrying news of a war that is tearing everything apart. The words grow darker, the faces indistinguishable, and Monelle senses something wavering within Lucien, though she cannot yet name it. When war devours the soul, what remains of a man? Inspired by true correspondence, this novel explores resilience and love in the face of the absurdity of war. Publication: December 1, 2025. Order now. Press release.
