" Literalities »

From a poststructuralist perspective, the notion of literalities This challenges the idea of a single, stable meaning for a text. This plurality of meanings depends on contexts, genres, and interpretations. In particular, some popular novels, often perceived as simple and immediately readable, actually reveal interpretive complexity. Behind an apparent clarity, these narratives employ generic codes that can be twisted or subverted, revealing tensions between the transparency and opacity of language. Thus, even so-called "simple" texts can conceal ideological stakes, challenged stereotypes, and intertextual games.

To celebrate her entry into "jubilación" (a term of endearment for a specific pilgrimage), Joëlle Cuvilliez retraced the steps of the Camino de Santiago on foot. As the renowned traveler Bernard Ollivier, author of *La longue marche* (The Long Walk), notes in his preface to the book, "even if it means getting lost often—and she certainly does—she goes in the wrong direction; instead of going to Compostela, she turns her back on it and heads south through Portugal. This has a drawback; she often loses her way, but it's only to find herself again." During this 630 km solo hike, she savored the intimacy of silence, the intensity of fleeting encounters, the ever-changing beauty of the world, and, day after day, tirelessly gathered a wealth of extraordinary coincidences. This woman immediately inspired her trust. A mixture of vivacity and gentleness emanated from her, an aptitude for empathy heightened by respect, a profound kindness devoid of condescension. An inner beauty of such strength that it made one forget the plain features of her face. Blanche then realized she had come to the right place, that the saving grace lay here, in the hands of the psychotherapist. Blanche grew up between two worlds: that of her father, darkened by grief and family resentments; and that of her mother, a bourgeois environment brimming with kindness. Two worlds equally dear to the child, but with which she had to navigate to win the love of a father who constantly belittled her. This quest for love would shape her entire adult life. A life marred by lukewarm relationships, constant guilt, and incessant questioning about her father's lack of affection. A life punctuated by a dual feeling of remorse and anger towards her mother… Publication date: June 2, 2025 Order Press release
