Thierry Focone

Régine Laprade

Thierry Focone was born in 1975 in Chaumont and spent much of his childhood in the Haute-Marne department, which he loves dearly. After a career in the gendarmerie, which ended twenty-one years later, he moved to Troyes in the Aube department, where he could once again serve others. During his postings in the Champagne region, he began jotting down ideas for plays for his wife's theater company. Passionate about writing, he threw himself wholeheartedly into fiction, with a particular fondness for the crime novel. His first two novels, "Une seule croix par cadavre" (One Cross Per Corpse) and "Vengeance s'écrit avec deux ailes" (Vengeance Is Written with Two Wings), were published by Douro.

September 2020: For just over eight months, FBI agent Helen Borowitz has been chafing at the bit, cut off from the world in a prison in all but name, after being separated from Police Captain Lucien Demarini, her partner and trusted confidante, from whom she has received no further news. The hope of regained freedom materializes when Alain de Maurin, her half-brother and worst enemy, resurfaces and poses a new threat to Chaumont and its surroundings. Helen, aided in her task by a gendarmerie investigator and a mysterious stranger, will embark on a fight to the death, in several emblematic locations in the Haute-Marne region marked by the American presence during the First World War. Chaumont, in the Haute-Marne region, resembles most small provincial towns: a few picturesque historical sites, the countryside bordering the town, and a reassuring quality of life. When this relative tranquility is shattered by the gruesome murder of a young student, a race against time begins, drawing a Chaumont police officer and an FBI agent into the hunt for the killer. They have only one clue to hope to end this deadly spiral: a small silver cross bearing the emblem of the Knights Templar. Publication date: April 15, 2021 Order Press release
