Thierry Focone

Regine Laprade

Thierry Focone was born in 1975 in Chaumont and spent a good part of his childhood in this department of Haute-Marne, which he loved so much. After a career in the gendarmerie, which ended twenty-one years later, he continued his journey in Troyes in the Aube region, in a field where he could once again be of service to others. During his assignments in the Champagne region, he began to jot down a few ideas for plays for his wife's troupe. Passionate about writing, he threw himself headlong into fiction novels with a favorite subject: the detective novel. His first two novels, "A Single Cross per Corpse" and "Vengeance is Written with Two Wings" were published by Douro Editions.

September 2020: For a little over eight months, FBI agent Helen Borowitz has been champing at the bit, cut off from the world in a prison that bears no name, after being separated from police captain Lucien Demarini, her close and powerful partner, from whom she has had no further sign of life. The hope of regained freedom materializes when Alain de Maurin, her half-brother and worst enemy, resurfaces and poses a new threat to Chaumont and its surroundings. Helen, aided in her task by a gendarmerie investigator and a mysterious stranger, will engage in a fight to the death, in several emblematic locations in Haute-Marne marked by the American presence during the First World War. From then on, FBI agent Helen Borowitz and police captain Lucien Demarini will begin a race against time in the hope of stopping an enigmatic murderer, who leaves a very particular clue at each crime scene: a daisy. Chaumont in Haute-Marne, resembles most small provincial towns: a few picturesque historic sites, the countryside on the outskirts of the city, and a reassuring living environment. When this relative tranquility is shattered after the sordid murder of a young student, a race against time begins, leading a Chaumont police officer and an American FBI agent to pursue the murderer. They have only one clue to hope to put an end to this deadly spiral: a small silver cross bearing the image of the Knights Templar. Publication date: April 15, 2021 Order Press release
