It is time to turn to thought. To approach the mystery by wiping away the sobs of the wild child, nestled within, held close to the heart. In Petals, Anna Maria Celli constructs a fervent poetics of torment, cruelty, and injustice. A poetry that does not look away, but traverses the night, the night of the flesh, of desire, of memory, and of loss. Through the sacredness of landscape, of the feminine, and of tales, this collection affirms that if we must die once more, it will be to better survive: by confronting, then vanquishing, the intimate monsters that haunt us. Nourished by an unquenchable hunger for self, this contemporary, deeply embodied writing makes the poem a place of struggle, vigilance, and rebirth. “In these nineteen stories, people fight to obtain far more than life demands and refuse to bow their heads. A waste picker living in an open-air landfill questions Europe, Gabriel appeals to a judge to save his half-sister, Claquette, a teenager, hesitates between emptiness and an outstretched hand, Mona revisits her past, and Mina searches for a future… families in conflict or mourning, the experience of prison or war—always, always, women and men turn their faces toward the sun: perhaps it isn't so far away, on the other side of the wall, on the other side of the sea, on the other side of the street… And then, there will always be the song of the waves and life that endlessly begins anew.” Publication date: February 2, 2026. The Pirate is a maritime and fantastical epic where the fury of the oceans roars and a legendary crew rises: the Burning Shadow, a sisterhood of African women rescued from slavery and transformed into the vengeful flames of the seas. At their head, Olympe de Clair-Vaillant, an indomitable captain, raises her black flag against the triangular trade and the colonial powers ravaging the 17th-century world. The story is told to us by Atx, an old sailor whose memories, in the twilight of his life, have become a raging sea once more. In 1668, he was only ten years old when he embarked alongside his grandfather Opa to protect their family from greedy colonists. Very quickly, they discover the unthinkable: Txénoa, Atx's cousin, has been kidnapped to be sold into slavery. This desperate quest throws them onto the road to Olympe, where they are in direct confrontation with her sworn enemy, Captain Sargouin, whose cruelty knows no bounds. Who hasn't dreamed of "knowing" what the gods are? Or at least of approaching the mystery of their existence? It's not forbidden to think that this is possible. To enter the great hall of mysteries, it's essential to simply let go of our attachment to those beliefs which, while speaking to us of God, actually bar us from Him. First, there is the word itself, then the meanings we ascribe to it. We rarely, if ever, think of returning to the source from which all that has taken the name of gods originated. From the Iliad to the Gospels, but taking unexpected detours, this book offers a journey. A journey that will allow us to grasp the extent of our denial, not so much of what it means to believe, but of what it implies. It opens doors to little-explored territories: those of religious practices that partly escape any orthodoxy, those of the Anastenaria in Greece, those of mystics, those that populate science fiction novels, like those analyzed by neurobiologist Jill Bolte Taylor. It reveals some secrets of our cerebral and psychic functioning, particularly by explaining what the Greek gods were in light of Julian Jaynes's work. Finally, it propels us through literary works (Homer, Chrétien de Troyes, Fitzgerald, Philip K. Dick, Kluge), theological works (Boethius, Saint Anselm), and philosophical works (Plato, Nietzsche) to the threshold of the most well-known experience in our lands: that of Christ, through a fresh reinterpretation of the four canonical Gospels. A book (liber in Latin) generally liberates its words, but also the pain it reveals. The pain it contains, or Antoine Cam's own? The pain he carries deep within his soul, even after Sophie's death. The pain that afflicts him, like the adoption proceedings. So he writes a book within a book, "Option Adoption," with a naiveté that will cause him much trouble, plunging him into despair to the point of giving rise to regrets. Ultimately, it will also allow him to reconsider his personal life, to allow himself other choices, and bring him that long-awaited revelation: understanding the cause of Sophie's accident… This novel approaches the world of work from the perspective of fraternity and solidarity, all the more reason to denounce stubbornness and cynicism when they prevail. In general, it celebrates fidelity to commitments, both personal and professional. Throughout the story, it draws upon strong values, particularly when addressing the themes of family and parent-child relationships. Publication date: January 2, 2026. Author. Order now.
"The awareness that every choice shapes our life and prevents us from having another one often poisons me." On the verge of boredom, "I" begin to write the life of the woman she might have become if, as a teenager, she had acted differently one day in June. A city, mirrors, photos, an overly white apartment, a tired suburban house. Through encounters and the lockdown, Ella, a hairdresser by choice, and her mentor, who mirrors her own, take unexpected turns that transform their lives. Publication date: January 2, 2026. In They Raised Angels on Shards, two collections respond to each other—not as mirrors, but as trembling echoes. On one side, the body rises from the chasm, scarred by a shipwrecked childhood, by fractured silences, by nameless violence inscribed everywhere. On the other, it is breath returning after the fire, the voice still walking when all should have fallen silent. Here, writing soothes nothing. It opens, it pierces. It brings forth, from the ashes, shifting forms, women without boundaries, angels standing on the ruins. It is a book of bone and fire, a book that speaks for those who were shorn, shaved, walled up alive in oblivion. A book that does not forget. That endures. That places words where History averts its gaze. Where the poem becomes a way of breathing in spite of everything. It is not about beauty. It is about verticality. From this raw, irrepressible light, which we still dare to cast into the dark water. And from the gentle insolence of living, even in ashes. Publication date: January 2, 2026. The author. Order now.
The Great Cycle of Life, or the Human Odyssey, is a cycle of fourteen poems—to be spoken, shouted, and whispered—comprising over thirteen hundred pages. A CD has been produced featuring the author reading a significant excerpt from each poem and a sound composition created specifically for each poem by Laurent Maza. A version of this CD was created for the stage with a slideshow by the painter Lawrence as a backdrop and performed three times, the last at the Théâtre du Beauvaisis—a national theater in the barn of the Maladrerie Saint-Lazare in Beauvais—the first performance being available to view in its entirety online. Readings of excerpts have taken place, as well as the publication of passages in artists' books or "livres pauvres" (poor books) and exhibitions. A complete reading of the entire Great Cycle of Life, or the Human Odyssey, is available online. The End of a Century! is the fourth poem in the cycle. Publication date: January 2, 2026.
