Jocelyne Mauferon, née Brachet, was born in La Rochefoucauld in 1960. A factory worker, she later became a hairdresser who worked from home. On July 14, 1990, a much-desired baby boy was born, and at 10 months old, a different life began. She devoted herself entirely to him until December 22, 2012, when everything changed; tragedy struck. Through writing, she wanted to pay a beautiful tribute to her beloved son, Kevin, who would have been so proud to have a book dedicated to him.

Interview with Jocelyne Mauferon on Radio Attitude, Angoulême

We spent so many years keeping words bottled up inside to protect Kevin, to shield him from others, from society. With this book, we will be able to free ourselves, to unburden ourselves by saying what happened, by sharing our joys and sorrows, by recounting our life, the good and the bad. We only have the two of us left to protect, so we will pour out our hearts in the name of our son, who would have been so proud to have a book dedicated to him.
