Christophe Bregaint,Past the breaking point, Douro editions (March 2021, €18).

“This lyrical poetry unravels the frayed thread of passion, the broken thread of heartbreak, capturing the precious light of an intimate drama, the passage from sunlight to night. Love existed, the days undid it, and Christophe Bregaint narrates this without rage or extremism, with subtlety and sensitivity. (…) Rich in images of eloquent majesty, the stanzas seize us, the sentences strike us. Sentences in fragments, broken themselves, haunting, thrown onto the paper with a sharpness that threatens to tear it. A powerful style expressing, as closely as possible, the annihilated wonder, love vanquished to death. A poignant reading experience, of cruel beauty.” (Excerpt from the presentation by Céline Debayle).
