Chantal Quincy

A student at the Sacre Cœur, born into a well-known Bordeaux family (Rhum Negrita), found herself on stage, then on international tour as a topless showgirl, and finally landed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as a masseuse therapist. Showgirl at the Sacred Heart depicts my evolution through my turbulent years in the limelight until my transformation toward inner peace and serenity. Showgirl at the Sacred Heart describes my childhood regulated by a strict Catholic education, from which I freed myself by studying in Paris and London. My confidence regained, I began in the world of theater. After the student revolt of 1968, my career took a different direction. I became a topless showgirl and stripper. I met in Hong Kong, but my friend David turned out to be a traitor when we stayed in Istanbul. He disappeared, and I found myself alone and penniless. A contract took me to Southeast Asia, where I teamed up with a Trinidadian singer. Together we developed several song and dance duets (sometimes quite daring), which were followed by our Trinidad Steel Band, based in Hong Kong and touring Southeast Asian countries. Four years later, we split up, and I arrived in New York. For seven years, I lived without a green card. I learned numerology, shiatsu massage, and herbal treatments. After my sister died in New Mexico in May 1988, I moved to Santa Fe, where I was hired by Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Spa (Japanese-style thalassotherapy) as a massage therapist. In 2011, I stopped this activity to become the aesthetic coordinator of this same spa.
