Didier Cattiaut

After starting his career in aeronautics as an air traffic controller, Didier Cattiaut turned to more artistic professions. A stint at the Rennes Conservatory plunged him into the world of theater: intermittently performing as an actor, director, author, and teacher. When his daughters were born, the life of an acrobat had its ups and downs, so he created an arts and crafts business without abandoning his passion for culture. The writing of several short stories, some of which were awarded and published, led him on the great adventure of a first novel, an encounter with History, and even to Sarajevo...

What if this time it was Eurydice who descended into hell to save Orpheus? In Paris, in 1990, Eurydice is Hélène. She is 20 years old, an art student. Her Orpheus is Mil, barely older than her, a Yugoslavian painter who has come to try his luck in Paris. Life, love, happiness, everything smiles on them... Then comes the snake: in 1992 war breaks out in the Balkans, dragging Mil into its whirlwind. What other choice does Hélène have but to also descend into the hell of Sarajevo, in the midst of the siege, to try to save her beloved? She will share with us the daily lives of these ordinary, anonymous heroes, steeped in humanity, who try to courageously resist their destiny. And will this Eurydice be able to bring Orpheus back without looking back? Publication date: October 1, 2023 Order
