Gabrielle Jarzynski
Gabrielle Jarzynski lives and works in Paris. Blending dreamlike imagery and desire, writing and graphic design, she guides the reader toward her innermost selves while leaving them free to remain outside. What if we agreed to go in? To go in with sincerity, without protection. It can be frightening, yes. But it can remain secret; it's about intimacy. She probes strangers, offering us the fantasies we don't speak of. (Published by Derrière la salle de bains, Littérature Mineure, Médium Rare, Philippe Miennée, etc.) Her latest art book, La Sans Tête (The Headless One), features fifteen original drawings by Pat Andrea, wood engravings by Jean-Marie Picard, accompanied by Gabrielle's poetic texts, and was published by Éditions Médium Rare in September 2019.
Smith Smith (Illustrator)
Smith Smith—Photography, collage, and their most enjoyable and colorful assemblages create a dubious space between fiction and reality, between creator and viewer. The image becomes as much a commentary on reality as its poetry. Its scope remains imponderable since each image engages with the similar and the dissimilar, with political critique, but also with poetry. Nothing is fixed, everything is in motion. Collage becomes an occult power that so-called realistic art will never attain. Jean-Paul Gavard-Perre
