Sarah Khodri

Sarah Khodri is an architect, author, and photographer. Born in Chartres in 1997, she studied at the Paris Val-de-Seine School of Architecture, where she developed a passion for writing and photography. Immersed in the multidisciplinary nature of her profession, Sarah is drawn to themes such as the everyday, the ordinary, events, and monochrome photography. Having never had the opportunity to write more than short essays, it was during the first lockdown that she challenged herself to write about a theme that inspired her. The Covid-19 pandemic, an event that profoundly impacted our daily lives, then emerged as an ideal subject for her first book.

A light falls upon a smooth surface, leaving the mark of its passage, and the idea of capturing it springs to mind. This light moves, and I decide to follow its trail, thus beginning a hunt for the sun, or simply a quest for certain wonders. The weather, recently gloomy, reveals itself in its best light, offering unwavering support; wishing to express itself, it illuminates certain objects, and these are what I wanted to immortalize. These bursts of sunshine are synonymous with life and hope, blending reverie and escape. I celebrate time, creating a more soothing atmosphere where the days pass more quickly. I celebrate this sun that beautifies our daily lives, softens our sorrows, and keeps us a little more alive. I, meanwhile, am searching for glimmers of hope, life, and joy, for illusory, subtle, and observed banalities.
