Jean-Claude Goiri

Jean-Claude Goiri was born in 1967 to a family that emigrated from Bilbao to the Auvergne region of France, and today he lives in Nancy. This migration led him to question his dual culture, his sense of place, deterritorialization, and the nature of borders. A self-taught individual, he also transcended these socio-professional boundaries, working first as a musician, then in interpreting and translation, before becoming a trainer in the fight against illiteracy and finally leading writing workshops full-time. He has been involved in writing since 2002. After creating the fanzine Matulu, he has contributed and continues to contribute regularly to several magazines. He currently directs the magazine FPM and the publishing house TARMAC.

A collection of burlesque and satirical short stories, *The Ductile Part* pushes to the extreme the waste of energy that some people engage in daily to squander the lives of their fellow human beings. These people spend their time gnawing at each other instead of building positive relationships. And this is evident in their every action. From strangeness, eccentricities, and fear often result exclusion, confinement, greed, or crime. So, what better way to address these issues and spark ideas for a different approach than through humor and derision? Alternating between short stories and micro-stories, the texts leave ample room for the reader's imagination.
