Originally from Dunkirk, François Laërte left the Opal Coast to study History, Communication, and then Political Science. After a few years in the socio-cultural sector, he joined the civil service, working for various local authorities and the National Assembly. Beyond his professional activities, François Laërte is a musician, songwriter, director, and screenwriter. This novel was born from a need: to explore what remains of childhood when we become adults, and to examine what it shapes within us: the distances, the silences, the thwarted desires, the poorly assumed responsibilities, the dizziness felt before the word "transmission." For in our forgotten childhoods lies the key to many of our choices and, above all, to our adult renunciations.
