Young Esther falls in love with a man who saved her one evening from the clutches of a boor. Handsome and wealthy, he marries her and moves her into a sunny villa near the sea. He quickly becomes authoritarian and demanding. In love, Esther tries to adapt while allowing herself to be shaped. He criticizes her for her weight, isolates her from her friends, and denigrates her family. She gives in to his every whim and ends up a recluse. Under such influence, she feels as empty and transparent as the bottles downed by her tyrannical husband in the company of unsavory friends. The illusion of happiness she vainly tried to cling to is then replaced by distress. How can she cope with this all-powerful man who indulges in poisonous relationships? Are sleeping pills the only way to escape him? Will the intervention of a womanizer with no morals succeed in making her react? Release Date: February 1, 2024 Order
