Douro Editions "Through reading, we become absent from ourselves and our own lives." Alphonse Karr
Paul Victor

The author is originally from the former Principality of Liège, from where he escaped to travel the world, before settling in California and New Mexico. Upon returning to Belgium, he settled in Brussels, where he currently resides. In addition to short stories, he also writes short detective novels under the pen name Paul Deléon.

Fifteen heterogeneous atmospheres, featuring characters and situations as disparate as possible. There are, however, references to the Second World War, such as an SS officer on the run, a prisoner returning to his family, or a marine from both Marseille and Scotland. That's for history buffs. Add a fairground panther woman, a priest throwing his pants to the nettles, a poet and jazz-mad garbage collector, a bayou resident who detects when the electric chair at the neighboring penitentiary is activated, or an old lady who finds solitude perfectly acceptable, if not desirable. That's for open-minded people. Younger readers might find one or other of the adventures to their liking, such as The Boogeyman, The Little Man, or The Misunderstood. Release date: April 1, 2024 Order
