Julien Giovannoni

Immersed in the worlds of cyberpunk science fiction, Julien Giovannoni chose fiction writing to give substance to detective novels and thrillers in futuristic contexts, flirting with themes that mix scientific experiments and urban legends. With Speed'Organes, he created a sprawling urban monster, a hypothetical unhealthy mutation of his native region, where the protagonists lock themselves into the codes of a Polar Noir in order to confront the technical and social excesses of new technologies. Beyond that, Julien likes to escape urban planning and hike in nature. He gleans some inspiration there for the other genres that fascinate him: historical adventure and fantasy.

The Mandatory Organ Donation Law allows any private organization to take organs from every deceased citizen, then deliver them for transplantation by autonomous surgical robots. Only one city applies this law, and not just any city: the megalopolis of Nicae Ratapignata, built anarchically on the ruins of a terrible earthquake in the South East of France. Not very good reputation, its high crime and mortality rate has opened the door to all types of trafficking related to human bodies. Marion Hernandez, inspector of the Criminal Brigade, knows something about it; her roommate and friend Satine Ramie is employed at Speed'Organes, the largest company on the market. But when an organ delivery man working for an illegal company suffers a road accident, a bloody investigation will lead her on the trail of an organ harvesting and transplant obsessive whose nature turns out to be most... innovative and disturbing.
