Although created in 2016 by publishing professionals: a writer-graphic designer, Martine FORMET, a company sales director, Rosalie DIAS, and a retired former journalist and press editor, Antonio DE MORAIS CARDOSO, the company Éditions Douro did not really start its activity until July 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 period, a postponement due, in particular, to the difficulties and the problem of book distribution in France.

Editorial line

Éditions Douro's purpose is the publication, exclusively at the publisher's expense, of all texts of French and foreign literature: popular novels (detective, adventure, romance, science fiction), stories, biographies, essays, poetry, theatre…

A diverse editorial board composed of 14 members is responsible for giving its reasoned opinion on submitted texts.

In accordance with their initial objective, Éditions Douro publishes between 60 and 70 books each year.

The head office is based in Chaumont, Haute-Marne. However, the published authors come from or reside all over France and abroad: Europe, Africa or the American continent.

Distribution and marketing are handled by Hachette Livre, particularly in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Canada…
