Sarah Mirkovitch

After two degrees in Modern Literature and FLE, Sarah Mirkovitch devoted herself to teaching French, translation, voiceovers and conference interpreting in Barcelona (Spain). Under the watchful eye of a philosopher friend, Nelly Schnaith, she tackled a choice piece by translating Michel Serres' book The Northwest Passage into Spanish for Debate Editions (Madrid). Passionate about cinema from a young age, she trained as a screenwriter, wrote a feature film and several short films in French and Spanish, then she wrote a story in her mother tongue and sent it to the humorist philosopher, Yves Cusset, who offered to sponsor her for the Festival Off d'Avignon, as part of the Cartes Blanches. Three other stories followed for the same Festival. Then, the collection Tales from Between the Worlds was published by 999. The Mask of Silence is his first novel.

If Alex Basso i Boronat decided to follow in the footsteps of his father Pablo, a Catalan journalist, it was not to practice his profession in Spain under the Franco regime, but to become a photojournalist in Latin America. When he came of age, he left Barcelona and flew to Buenos Aires where he met Mia, a political activist who would become his muse and the love of his life until the day of their accident that left him in a long coma. When he woke up, he asked for Mia's presence, but no one had ever heard of her. Convinced of her enforced disappearance, he could not investigate because he ran the risk of losing his life there, as Argentina had become too dangerous for him. With the help of an attaché from the Spanish embassy, he left the country and returned to Barcelona. Determined not to abandon his search, he conducted his investigation, which would take him to Paris where surprising revelations awaited him. Release: February 15, 2025 Order Press Release
