Douro Editions "Through reading, we become absent from ourselves and our own lives." Alphonse Karr
Laurence Haurat-Draunet

Laurence Haurat-Draunet worked for a long time as a History and Geography teacher in an establishment in the Southwest of France. Reading and writing have allowed her, since childhood, to escape off the beaten track. She is also interested in different forms of art, cultures, and foreign languages. She loves more than anything observing and listening to the people she meets. Their different ways of thinking and adapting to the ups and downs of life represent, for her, an infinite and often astonishing richness of the human race. This curiosity for others forms the basis of the characters who run through her novel.

Unattached, he settles into other people's nests to absorb their daily world and fill his inner emptiness. Like a cuckoo. Not mean. Not violent. Just a new-generation squatter who moves from region to region as events unfold. Meticulous and organized, he masters all the risks associated with this atypical existence. At least, he's convinced of it. Until the day a small, unexpected grain of sand gets in the way. Everything quickly spirals out of control. He's forced to adapt to survive! So much for ethics and grand principles. He absolutely must save his skin. At any cost. To restore order to this chaos. Release date: April 1, 2024 Order
