Bernard Barioz

Bernard Barioz, father of three, is the author of the short story "Une famille qui éclate" (A Family That Falls Apart), in the collection "Familles" (Families), published by Éditions La main multiple, and of "Vies et morts de Bebar" (Lives and Deaths of Bebar), reissued by Edilivre. He also wrote the lyrics for love songs on the album "1, 2, 3 Rêveries" (1, 2, 3 Daydreams). He then wrote "Une rencontre si fortuite" (Such a Fortuitous Encounter), published in 2022 by Éditions Douro. From a very young age, he has been constantly playing his violin. Music, like writing, provides him with the most beautiful escape. His fractured characters, and the fever that afflicts them, are set in a century destined to be the last.

Lysou and her accomplice and friend Daisy skewer the 21st century with scathing, uncompromising blows. This kingdom is not theirs. Fresh out of the Faculty of Arts in Grenoble, Lysou falls for Arthur, a bookseller who is at once a sorcerer, a troublemaker, and a manipulator. Will his murderous intentions lead her to concoct morbid schemes of her own? To eliminate any possible rival? Or is it all a gigantic fabrication? A construct of the mind that can only be cured by learning, knowledge, or perhaps psychoanalysis? In a labyrinth of upheavals that elevate her, Lysou experiences a fierce will to live and to understand. A dense and pervasive madness emanates from every page of the narrative. Poetry, philosophy, and spirituality are subtly woven into its fabric. Publication date: December 2, 2024 Order Press release
