Pierre Barachant

Pierre Barachant

Pierre Barachant was born in 1949. He only attended school until the age of 14 and retained from this experience a profound boredom that he filled with a voracious appetite for reading. He then began to wander, always penniless, traveling, drifting, observing, and drifting from one job to another, without conviction. He experimented with drugs, lived on the streets for a time, and then, around the age of 30, he began to write novels and short stories. He also acted for Luc Moulet and Renaud Cojo and directed a musical comedy, Diva in Not. Since 2009, he has lived and written in Berlin after spending about twenty years in Nyons and the surrounding area.

Come closer, ladies and gentlemen, Don Juan and timid maidens,

Obsessed with trifles and jaded by mischief,

Come one, come all!

You are welcome

At the Grand Circus of Love!

What am I saying, love…

Love!

Open your mouth wide.

Close your eyes tightly,

It's going to be a bumpy ride.

The tsunami of emotion!

We will serve you,

On a platter of flesh and ash,

The loving body as if you were there!

Torn apart or ecstatic,

Enchanted or disgusted,

Do you want some body?

You'll get some!

And of the soul, my dear lady,

Shall we slice it for you?

Eat in

Or to take away to Uncle Lacan's?

Are you already feeling dizzy?

Hold on tight,

Fasten your chastity belts,

This is just the beginning!

Alright, everyone on board!

Love doesn't wait!

Come in, come in now

In the chaos of the heart

No, hearts.

There were three of them.

Four with the darkness…

Horizons is the perfect beach read—or at least a flatland read—to be enjoyed while gazing at the horizon. Through three perspectives on the same question, the same enigma, you will navigate, from sentence to sentence, from page to page, from character to character, toward that same elusive point. This novel reads like a stream, its water fresh, refreshing, shimmering, yet always fleeting, flowing toward the sea, toward the horizon. In other words: it's a sensation.
