Joëlle Pétillot

Joëlle Pétillot was born in 1956 to a father who was a designer, illustrator, and painter, and a mother who was a pianist. A house full of books and curiosity played an important role in her early desire to write. After novels and short stories, poetry became increasingly present; however, it excludes nothing, neither humorous chronicles, nor short stories, nor narratives in various forms: the essential thing is not to be where, perhaps, one would expect. Publications in several magazines: Lichen, Reflections of Time, The Ardent Country, The Capital of Words, The Literary Cause, Possibles, First Poetry, Uncertain Look, Discharge (The Choice of Discharge) As in Poetry, ARPA Writings of the North, Verso, Use of the Poem, Traction Braban, Cabaret, Saraswati, Voice, Review Meninges, Use of the Poem... Publications of poetry collections: The Ball of Still Things, Alcyone editions, Dark Lightning, High School Troubadours Prize 2020, Henry editions. Novels: The Beautiful Ogress, The Monster Queen (Beautiful Ogress2). Short stories: The Chance of Encounters, Little Deaths or Almost. Novels and short stories have been published by Chemins de Tr@verses editions.

How to chronicle silences? Perhaps by listening to them. The most total silence is the one that awaits us all, few are in a hurry to experience it. But an inhabited silence is made of a thousand things, and can also adorn itself, seize, the thoughts it inspires, the roads it opens to the gaze, the music it evokes and the perfumes it carries. It is a gift from the world, a privileged dream because in full awakening we drink it, we inhale it, savor it, distill it. The "chronicles" were born from this devouring. More playful (although), the short films, brief as the title indicates, have taken the gamble of saying far in a few words, playful if possible: depth does not exclude malice. Both are life itself. Enjoy reading, living.
