Jean-François Foulon

Jean François Foulon was born in the heart of the Ardennes region to a Belgian father and a French mother. A graduate in Romance Philology (University of Liège), he worked in the public sector in Brussels but now lives in Wallonia. Passionate about reading and writing, he has contributed to various literary journals (Le Journal de la Culture, La Presse Littéraire, and Le Magazine des Livres). He currently writes literary criticism articles for the online site "Les belles phrases," run by writer Eric Allard. He regularly contributes to the magazine Marginales (short stories) directed by Vincent Engel. He has already edited seven books. His most recent, "Perte de mémoire," was published by Editions Douro.


This book is a collection of short stories. Its title ("Thwarted Loves") clearly indicates the common thread that connects all the stories. Each time, it is a love story that ends badly. The places and times are varied: 13th-century Japan, Périgord at the time of the Croquants' War, a South American country in the midst of a dictatorship, etc. However, most of the stories are contemporary and take place in Belgium or France.
