Jean-François Foulon
Jean François Foulon was born in the heart of the Ardennes, to a Belgian father and a French mother. A graduate in Romance philology (University of Liège), he worked in the public sector in Brussels but now lives in Wallonia. Passionate about reading and writing, he has contributed to various literary journals (Le Journal de la Culture, La Presse Littéraire, and Le Magazine des Livres). Currently, he writes literary criticism for the online site "Les belles phrases," run by the writer Eric Allard. He is a regular contributor to the short story journal Marginales, edited by Vincent Engel. He has already published seven books. His latest, "Perte de mémoire" (Loss of Memory), was published by Editions Douro.
This book is a collection of short stories. Its title ("Thwarted Loves") clearly indicates the common thread that links all the tales. Each story is a love affair that ends badly. The settings and eras are varied: 13th-century Japan, the Périgord region of France during the Croquant War, a South American country under dictatorship, and so on.
